Current Position:  Head Builder, 5th Avenue Theatre, 2012 – Present

Responsibilities:

  • Manages use, maintenance, equipment, materials, and safety protocols for two scene shops
  • Assist creative team, Heads, and Technical Director to plan seasonal labor, projects, budgets, and equipment needs
  • Create and manage build schedules and develop build information for shop teams
  • Oversees refurbishing and retrofitting rented and stored sets, travels with rented sets to consult on installation and strike

Accomplishments:

  • Began with two-person team assisting Head Carpenter; developed the team into to a complete Building Department 
  • Negotiated contracts for department and team members between the 5th Avenue and IATSE Local 15
  • Developed and built first Build workshop under the stage, and a second, full-size workshop in the warehouse
